Key Club
Key Club is a student-led organization that provides high school students with opportunities to serve their communities, build character, and develop leadership skills:
- Mission: Key Club's mission is to transform communities worldwide by developing caring and competent servant leaders.
- Values: Key Club's core values are leadership, character building, caring, and inclusiveness.
- Service: Key Club members perform service projects in their schools, homes, and communities. They also participate in District and Kiwanis International Service Awards and Contests.
- Structure: Key Club is self-governing and operates at the local, district, and international levels. Local Kiwanis clubs sponsor local Key Clubs.
- Membership: Key Club is open to students typically aged 14–18. Members are guided and supported by adult volunteers, including Kiwanis advisors, faculty advisors, and district administrators.
- Colors: The official colors of Key Club are blue, gold, and white. Blue represents unwavering character, gold represents service, and white represents purity.
- History: The first Key Club met in May 1925 after being approved by educators who wanted to replace high school fraternities with a more wholesome activity.
